Today dogfishes, as the main source of squalene, are only be found in some certain places, i.e. at the sea of Indonesia, Philipina, Spain, Portugal, Norway and some of African countries. However, the best squalene come from dogfishes live in Indonesian waters.

The first discoverer of squalene is Japanese chemical expert, DR. Mitsumaru Tsujimoto. He was a famaous chemical expert in Japan dan had discovered a lot of chemical compounds, derived from sardine acid and buthyalcohol. In 1906, DR. Tsujimoto discovered an oil extracted from aizame dogfish and he named it squalene. In 1931, another expert DR, Kora at Zurich University, Swiss, discovered cmecial structure of squalene. Because of his discovery, he was awarded The Nobel Price.

In 1932, DR. Mashina and his friends carried out research about squalene benefit and they found that squalene had medical potential. The research result was then continued by a team of experts led by DR. Kejiro Kogami. Because of their hard work, the team found that squalene really had medical benefit and could ease and cure some diseases such as, tuberculose, skin disease, burn-wound, gastritis and intestine diseases. Whereas DR. Ryosuke Yokota found that squalene could prevent the development of cancer tissue.

In 1970, Dr. H. Hella and Dr. V.Z. Pasteleraque could prove that squalene could increase human body immunity against many diseases. It could be happened because squalene enhanced the activity and endurance of immune cells in bone marrow, spleen gland, adrenal gland, T and B limfosit cells and macrofag.
